Cambridge is a historic city with many things to see and do while you’re here. These places all have free entry, or have low entry fees, and make for an amazing way to spend a morning, afternoon, or even an entire day.
Cambridge Botanical Gardens
The Cambridge Botanical Gardens is home to a wide variety of plants and is part of the University of Cambridge. The gardens can be explored in about half a day, but there is also a cafe inside should you choose to stay for more than half the day. The gardens are open daily between 10am and 4pm in January, and 10am and 5pm in February. Admission costs £8.00 for an adult (over 16), and is free for those aged 16 and under. If you are visiting with more than 15 people, then you must book with the University in advance. More information can be found on the museum’s website here.

Walking and College Tours
There are a variety of walking tours available run by different companies in the Cambridge area. Walking tours are a great way to spend an afternoon exploring the history of Cambridge and more of the city. College tours are also available, and they are run by individual colleges themselves. Some colleges have self-guided tours, where you can go around the college yourself, while others may offer guided tours around the college, and others may be closed to the public.

Museums
Cambridge has a variety of museums in and around the city centre, most of which can be visited free of charge.
