Unfortunately, due to the new lockdown in England and the uncertainty about when we will be able to return to school (i.e. whether the lockdown will have ended by the time of the conference), we, along with our school, have made the tough decision to cancel this year’s conference.
A combination of things led to this decision and it wasn’t taken lightly – but safeguarding concerns, potential technology problems, and logistics of organizing and running the conference remotely mean that we can’t feasibly run the conference within the new parameters of the UK lockdown.
We appreciate that you will have been looking forward to the conference, and that this news will be disappointing, but we hope you can appreciate the ever-changing nature of the current situation, and therefore the need for us to react as circumstances change. We are sorry for the short notice, but we have been trying to consider different options since the lockdown was announced on the 4th of January, but ultimately we have concluded that this is the only option.
Finally, we would like to say thank you for your willingness to attend this year’s conference, despite the circumstances and the adaptations, and once again, we are deeply sorry that we had to make this decision.
We hope that you all will consider applying for next year’s conference when registration is launched in autumn 2021!
